My name is Katrina Jack or Kate for short. I was born in Liverpool, a great city, from which I derive a great deal of my writing inspiration.
I write YA urban fantasy books and short story compilations, also in the fantasy genre. My family are great readers, of all kinds of genres. Their influence also made me an avid devourer of books, which finally evolved into a desire to write my own.
I began writing at the age of fourteen, mostly articles for women’s magazines then I joined a writing group and moved onto short stories, and finally novels.
My chosen genre is, of course, speculative fiction, and some of my favourite writers are Jim Butcher, Terry Prachett and Robin Hobb, along with many more fantastic authors.
