The Gloaming is filled with all kinds of creatures, but not all of them are monsters. A young girl, standing on the edge of womanhood, was left there by her mother with no explanation or reason given. Her only companion, and one time guardian, now lies buried in THE STONE GARDEN, gone beyond reach. All the girl has left is a singing voice that is so beautiful it can tumble cities and wreak havoc, and she dare not use it.
However, her ability has come to the attention of the local warlord, who decides to utilise her as a weapon and thus achieve his ambition of achieving power and ambition that will stretch far beyond the confines of the netherworld. And so the fledgling songstress must make a bid for freedom or become a weapon for a monster who has no qualms about enslaving her to his purpose. Mercy, compassion and empathy do not figure in his mind; he will seize the girl and force her to do his bidding.
